Members of the Social Networks Group – UC supervise graduate research in social network analysis, statistical network models, and mixed methods — with substantive expertise spanning education and governance, alongside related computational and organizational applications — across four units of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (PUC):

Considering a PhD with us? Most courses in these programs are taught in Spanish, and completing coursework is a requirement of the PhD, so applicants should be able to follow graduate-level classes in Spanish. Email anespinosa@uc.cl with a short note on your research interests and a CV — we’re happy to discuss fit and supervision availability before you apply through any of the four units above.
Group Meetings
Social Networks – UC is a collaborative space for researchers working from a network perspective. We meet every other week at the San Joaquín Campus of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile to discuss the theoretical and methodological challenges of ongoing research.
Who can take part. Meetings are open to those pursuing postgraduate theses or research (master’s or doctoral), postdoctoral researchers, and faculty at PUC whose work adopts a network perspective. We ask for a high level of commitment and active participation, so the group stays vibrant and supports the development of each member’s research.
Postdoctoral Fellowship
The group sponsors early-career researchers applying for the ANID FONDECYT Postdoctoral Fellowship, in areas including social network analysis, statistical network models, mathematical sociology, computational social science, and methodological and software development for network analysis.
